Have you every wondered about the wine making process? Are red wines fermented differently than white wines? How do you evaluate a wine in a restaurant or at the Tasting Room? What is "Clarity", "Body", "Aroma", and "Bouquet"? Come to our Wine Tasting and Appreciation Class, taught by our very own Sommelier, Karen Fielding. There are only 10 people in a class, so sign up now!! You will be tasting and evaluating 9 different Black Mesa wines with maybe a surprise or two... Cost is $50/person. The event includes a guided tour into the vineyards and winery. You will given an explanation of the winemaking process at BMW and some history of NM wine. After the tour we will pair 6-8 cheeses with 6-8 wines. An explanation of the pairing process will be given. The cheeses are crafted at Old Windmill Dairy in Estancia,N.M. Attendees will be given a 10% discount on wine and cheese purchased that evening.(20% for wine club members). Reserve seating only-maximum 20 people per event.
An afternoon of painting, wine, fun and food. We supply the art supplies, wine and food. All you bring is your desire to relax and create! Lynda Burd, Co-Owner of Black Mesa Winery, artist and graphic designer will provide the guidance for creating your own work of art -- suitable for framing of course!
